Don't underestimate the amazingness of the story as it stands Sir, even without the pound coin bonus aspect to increase its amaze-inducement potential. Think of this - only a few million years ago you wouldn't have been able to lift that pastie up because, back then, you only had flipper things and not the opposing thumb set up that's made us so successful as a species. All this happening in the nick of time so that you could enjoy that pastie - now that really is amazing.

What an amazing coincidence....I also had a Cornish pasty adventure yesterday.
Last year we were in Cornwall and I dropped a pound coin in a field of potatoes........anyway........I hunted for it but after an hour or two I finally had to admit it was gone.
The amazing thing is yesterday, while out in town I bought a genuine, made in Cornwall, Cornish pasty.............And when I bit into it you will be amazed what was in it........thats right.........carrot

Be grateful a polar ice cap didn't melt just as you were setting up. Think of all the bait you would have wasted, you could have bought an ounce of Old Holbourne instead and saved yourself the journey while you were at it. And not making that journey may have just prevented the planet from reaching the tipping point which lead to the ice cap melting. So I say it's your own feckin fault.

Used to fish there when I was a lad, Birmingham Police had a pool at Bodymoor Heath.
The tench went bigger than that and the perch fishing was brilliant.

Funny thing is even back in the 60's when it rained the water rose.

Ehm! maybe this should be one for ousechav but IMO if you,r ledgering shouldn,t be much of a problem but if you,r on the float with repeated plumbing you should be able to keep your bait on the bottom or just off if required.
